The smaller wine regions of South Australia are full of treasures. We visited Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley. See highlights of our visit in late January. Watch the Three S.A Peninsula Video to see what to tick on all three peninsulas in South Australia.

Langhorne Creek

Three highlights of the Langhorne Creek wine region: 1. Bremerton Winery – this female owned and run winery is housed in a stunningly renovated 1866 stone barn. They have deliciously different wines including Verdelho, Fiano and Graciano. 2. The nearby town of Goolwa, a Cittislow (slow movement) town with great food and chilled vibes 3.The Southcoast wine train (from Goolwa) or the 14km cycling track (from Lake Breeze) to explore the wineries.

McLaren Vale

Three things to tick in McLaren Vale regions are: 1. Chalk Hill Winery which has stunning views, incredible Pinsa’s (Italian flatbread meets street pizza) and music on Friday nights in summer. 2. 10 km south is the adorable historic town of Willunga with old fashioned tearooms, a sculpture trail and limestone pubs. 3. The 35km Coast to Vines trail from Adelaide to Wilunga.

Clare Valley

Three things to tick in the Clare valley are: 1. The Riesling and Rattler rail trails which wind past many cellar doors and restaurants. 2.The incredibly friendly community campground at Auburn located right on the rail trail . 3. Kilakanoon and Sussex Squire boutique wineries with superb wines and super friendly sommeliers.
